  What does your Abeoji, the Korean word for father, look like?

​

     I paint a portrait of my father.

A father who seems to possess superpowers, radiating a dignified and heroic strength. Yet, beneath that strength lies a deeply embedded loneliness and profound patience. Standing upon the deep, ocean-like foundation that my father built for me, perhaps we are able to dream of a peaceful future today.

​

   A profound sense of gratitude and heartache toward my father has driven me to bring this piece to life. I dedicate this artwork to all the superhero fathers in this world, who pour their love into building a better future for their children.

나의 아버지를 그려봅니다.

근엄하고 영웅적인 강인함으로 슈퍼파워를 가진 듯한 아버지. 하지만 그 강인함 속에 깊이 내재해 있는 외로움과 깊은 인내심. 그분이 서 계시는 깊은 바다 같은, 나의 기초를 다져놓은 아빠의 힘 덕분에 우리는 오늘도 편안한 미래를 꿈꾸고 있는 게 아닐까요?
